SDS is working with the congregation on a challenging and limited site to develop a variety of feasible scenarios for everything from a relatively minor addition and remodeling to an all-new church building.
In the fall of 2014, SDS Architects was commissioned by the congregation of the First Lutheran Church in Barron, Wisconsin to complete an evaluation of their existing facility, focusing on their Fellowship Hall, youth spaces and restrooms. Resulting from this evaluation, several different options for remodeling and small additions, while keeping most of the existing facility intact, were presented to the congregation. After this presentation, it was determined that the scope of the project should be expanded to address not only those spaces, but to evaluate the needs of the Church as a whole.
The second phase of the evaluation is to consider all user groups and spaces within the church to determine their needs. Options being considered range from larger additions and major remodeling of their existing church, to building a new facility on their current site.
