Olivia Hammer
Interior Designer
Ever since I was little I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. I spent more time playing with my Barbie house than I did with the actual dolls. For Christmas, my dad would give me books of floor plans. My dad is an electrician, and when I was little I loved going out onto jobs with him. These jobs would be in various stages of construction, and I loved seeing the progression of a building. I don't think it was a shock to my family when I told them what I wanted to go to school for.

As an Interior Designer I love taking a client's dream and turning it into a reality. I love taking a white shell of a space and turning it into this jaw-dropping experience. In this career every day is different, and I'm constantly learning new things, because design never stops evolving.

I like all the stages of a project with a client. In the beginning you are trying to gather as much information and ideas from them as you possibly can, and then incorporating these ideas into the design. I feel that renderings are a crucial tool in the design process, this can really give your client a feel for the space. Then comes the color and the textures! The materials you put into a project really define the whole package. The best feeling when working with clients is seeing the happy looks on their faces when the whole project comes together!

I live in the country with my boyfriend Nate and our dog Hazel, a St. Bernard Newfoundland mix. She is a big goofball and loves to run around with the cows. I love to travel because there's just something about being in a place you have never been and appreciating all the little things in life. I also love to do anything outdoors, whether it be hiking, kayaking, or camping, and the list goes on and on. On Saturday mornings you can either catch me at the farmers market or crafting on our back deck drinking way too much coffee.
